Each retainer is individually scoped so that the legal work included, level of access, monthly capacity and treatment of work outside scope are clear from the outset.

Solicitor Access Retainer

For founders, entrepreneurs, individuals and businesses who value regular direct access to an experienced solicitor for focused oral legal advice and continuity as issues arise.

Reserved Access

Up to 2 hours of reserved oral advisory capacity per month
Up to 4 scheduled advisory consultations per month
Maximum 30 minutes per consultation
Telephone or scheduled video consultations
Advice within PAIL Solicitors' core practice areas
Priority scheduling for retainer clients
Continuity with a solicitor familiar with your business or circumstances

Monthly Retainer

£750 + VAT

This arrangement is for scheduled oral legal advice only and reserves defined advisory capacity during the relevant monthly period. It does not include document review, drafting, written advice, substantive legal research, correspondence with third parties, negotiations, representation or litigation. Unused capacity does not carry forward. Additional work is separately scoped and may be charged by time-based billing, fixed fee or capped fee as agreed.

Major transactions, substantial disputes, litigation, extensive due diligence, specialist counsel and work beyond the agreed capacity are separately scoped and may be charged by time-based billing or under a separate fixed or capped fee.

Outside General Counsel arrangements are individually scoped. The monthly fee reflects the agreed level of senior involvement, reserved professional capacity, continuity and response requirements. It does not provide unlimited legal services or unrestricted access to the Firm. Significant transactions, litigation, exceptional projects and work materially beyond the agreed scope or capacity are separately agreed.

Priority Access Retainer clients receive priority access within the agreed service framework, with response expectations appropriate to the selected arrangement and nature of the matter.

Services remain subject to availability, conflict checks, regulatory requirements, agreed scope and our Retainer Service Terms and Conditions . Work outside the agreed retainer scope or capacity may be charged by time-based billing or under a separately agreed fixed or capped fee. VAT and third-party costs apply where relevant.
