International & Cross-Border Technology Work

Digital products cross borders from the first user. We help clients scale internationally without the legal framework falling behind the product.

Multi-Jurisdictional Alignment

  • Mapping overlapping UK, EU, US and APAC requirements for a product or launch
  • One contract and policy framework that works across markets
  • Governing law, jurisdiction and dispute-resolution clauses
  • Cross-border data transfers and supplier chains

How We Deliver Cross-Border Advice

We advise under English law from London and act for clients and counterparties based overseas. Where a matter turns on another country's law, we identify the issue early and scope the local-law input required, so you know where the English-law position ends.

Common Questions

Digital Technology Legal Questions

Does the EU AI Act apply to my UK business?
It can. The EU AI Act can apply to businesses outside the EU where they place AI systems on the EU market or where the system's output is used in the EU. The obligations depend on the system's risk category and your role, for example as provider or deployer.
If I paid a developer to build my software, do I own it?
Not necessarily. Under English law, copyright in code written by an external developer usually stays with the developer unless it is assigned in writing. The development agreement and any later assignment decide the position.
Can my team use generative-AI tools on client or confidential material?
It depends on the tool's terms and your own contracts. Some tools may retain or train on inputs, which can breach confidentiality or client obligations. A short review of the tool terms and your key contracts usually identifies the risk.
We sell into the US and EU. Can you align our terms and privacy documents?
Yes. We advise under English law and structure a single framework that anticipates overlapping requirements, and we identify where local-law advice is needed in another jurisdiction.
Can you advise on whether my crypto project is regulated?
We can identify regulatory questions, such as financial promotions and registration, and advise on documentation and IP. Regulated financial, tax and investment advice requires separately scoped specialist input.
